Prepositions

Prepositions are words that connect a noun or pronoun to

another word in a sentence. Some common

preposition are on, in, at, with, about, for, to, though,

etc.

Classification of Preposition

1. Simple Preposition: He lives in Dhaka.

2. Double Preposition: This machine is out of order.

3. Compound Preposition: He is about to die.

4. Phrase Preposition: He took Urdu in lieu of Arabic.

5. Participle Preposition: He knows nothing regarding this.

6. Disguised Preposition: He went a hunting. (a=on)

7. Detached Preposition: Where do you come from?
