We need to build our children imparting quality education - Deputy Ministry of Education

Deputy Ministry of Education, Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Naofel attended as chief guest with Director Education and English of British Council David Maynard in the chair.

Nusrat Jahan Milki, Project Manager Schools for the British Council Bangladesh, moderated the session.

David Maynard said Connecting Classroom is a partnership journey among schools, teachers and students. It defines the shared activities of the schools on different learning issues based on curriculum. 

Teachers and students benefit by sharing best practices developing collaborative activities, he said adding that the programme had created a better and enhanced learning environment imparting sense of internationalism and leadership among the students.

International School Award is a celebration and recognition of collaborative activities of schools. It is very important to develop global teaching- learning trend among the teachers and students and to know the cultural values, tradition and heritage of the international partner schools, he added.

Nearly 3000 Bangladeshi schools of the country were registered with the program.

Naofel said: “We need to build our children imparting quality education and the world class education with the changing demand of technology and globalization.”

The government has been working to ensure quality education in order to reach the Sustainable Development Goals, set by the United Nations, he said.

Teachers are the maker of all sorts of development and the future generation. So, the government has given the priority to uplift the livelihood of the teachers, he added.

He said the teachers and students across the globe are acquiring the skills and encouraged and inspired sharing and exchanging the collaborative education projects through connecting classroom program. It has created opportunities for the young people to learn about and take consequent action on global issues as well as to develop their key transferable skills.
