Rule: 01

Too…. to (এতই….. যে)/Enough…. to

Too…. to যুক্ত sentence এ দুটি ব্যক্তিবাচক/ সমজাতীয় subject থাকলে।

Structure 1: Subject + verb + too + adjective → to + V1 + object/ext.

Example: 

He is too weak to walk. (তিনি হাঁটতে খুব দুর্বল।)

The load is too heavy for her to carry. (বোঝাটি তার বহন করার জন্য খুব ভারী)

Rana is too strong to defeat anybody. (রানা কাউকে হারানোর জন্য খূবই শক্তিশালী)

He has too much money to purchase anything anytime. (যে কোন সময় কিছু কেনার জন্য তার অনেক টাকা আছে।)

Too … to যুক্ত 1st Sentence টি বস্তূবাচক বা দুটি ভিন্ন subject থাকলে।

Structure 2: Subject + verb+ too+ adjective→ for ব্যাক্তি বাচক subject এর objective form+ to+ V1+ obj/ext.

Example: 

The Sum is too hard for me to solve it. (অংকটি সমাধান করা আমার জন্য খুব কঠিন)

At times it creates too many problems for me to solve. (মাঝে মাঝে এটি আমার সমাধান করার জন্য অনেক সমস্যা তৈরি করে।)

It is too interesting a matter for us to enjoy. (এটা আমাদের জন্য উপভোগ করার খুব আকর্ষণীয় একটি বিষয়)

Rule-02: 

So…. that (এতই যে)

Structure: Subject + verb + so + adjective/adverb + that + subject + cannot/could not + সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ verb + বাকী অংশ।

Example: 

The man is so weak that he cannot move his body. (লোকটি এতই দুর্বল যে সে তার শরীরকে নড়াচড়া করতে পারে না।)

Their throats were so dry that they couldn’t speak. (তাদের গলা এতই শুকিয়ে গিয়েছিল যে তারা কথা বলতে পারছিল না।)

He is so expert that he can solve it easily. (তিনি এতই বিশেষজ্ঞ যে তিনি সহজেই এটি সমাধান করতে পারেন।)

She is so intelligent that she can understand it quickly. (সে এত বুদ্ধিমান যে সে দ্রুত বুঝতে পারে।)

He plays so skillfully that everybody gets amused. (সে এত নিপুণভাবে খেলে যে সবাই মজা পায়।)

 Rule-03:

That/so that/in order that (যাতে)

Structure 1: Present Tense → that/so that/in order that → subject +can/will/may + V1 + obj/ext.

Structure 2: Past Tense→ that/so that/in order that → subject + could/would/might + V1 + obj/ext.

Example: 

We eat so that we can survive. (আমরা খাই, যাতে করে আমরা বাঁচতে পারি/লড়াই করতে পারি)

We ate so that we could survive. (আমরা খেয়েছি, যাতে করে আমা বাঁচতে/লড়াই করতে পারতাম)

We eat so that we may live. (আমরা খাই, যাতে করে আমরা বাঁচতে পারি)

The farmers sow seeds that they may get a harvest. (কৃষক বীজ বপন করে, যাতে করে তারা ফসল পেতে পারে)

I closed the door so that he might not enter the room. (আমি দরজাটি বন্ধ করেছি, যাতে করে সে কক্ষে প্রবেশ করতে না পারে)

She saved money in order that she could buy a gift. (সে টাকা জমিয়েছিল, যাতে করে সে একটি উপহার কিনতে পারত)

Rule-04:

Lest/In case (যাতে.. না/ নতুবা)

Structure: Any Tense→ Lest→ subject + should/might + V1 + object.

Example: 

Walk fast lest you should miss the train. (দ্রুত হাঁট নতুবা তুমি ট্রেনটি মিস করবে)

I wrote down her address in case I should forget it. (আমি তার ঠিকানা লিখে রেখেছি নতুবা আমি এটি ভুলে যাব)

I’ve bought a chicken in case Raj should stay for lunch. (আমি একটি চিকেন/মুরগি কিনেছি যাতে রাজ লাঞ্চে থাকতে পারে)

They kept watching all night lest robbers should come. (তারা সারারাত দেখছিল নতুবা ডাকাত আসত)

We must take care lest evil thoughts enter our hearts. (আমাদের সতর্ক হতে হবে যাতে কু-চিন্তা আমাদের হৃদয়ে প্রবেশ করতে না পারে)

We must take immediate action lest it grew worse. (আমাদের অবিলম্বে ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে যাতে এটি আরও খারাপ না হয়।)

He hide in the woods lest the soldiers would find him. (সে জঙ্গলে লুকিয়েছিল যাতে সৈন্যরা তাকে খুঁজে না পায়।)

Take your umbrella lest you should get wet. (আপনার ছাতা নিন যাতে আপনি ভিজে না যান।)
