Background
After the birth, children start dreaming. They are a ship, full of a variety of valuables, but without any rudder, they’re aimless. After a certain stage in their lives, the magician of their lives takes entry, the teacher. Holding the child’s hand, a teacher accompanies him/her to adulthood, supports her and makes her a better human being in every way possible. Teachers are nation builders; they carve the generation through utmost diligence who go on to shape the future of the world. This 5th October, World Teachers’ Day is about to be observed with the theme, “Teachers: Leading in Crisis, Reimagining the future.” This profession has served the planet for years and still has some tremendous responsibility. This year is the 100th birth anniversary of the Father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Thereby, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, DSHE, DME, DPE and a2i ICT Division are observing World Teachers Day through an online seminar on pressing issues which center around teaching.
Teachers, in a classroom full of ideas, they spark the light. They are the main force of the backbone of the nation, Education. In the 21st century, The United Nations has come up with specific goals and agenda which are designed to ensure that sustainable development is ensured in a nation. The SDG 4 – “Quality Education” is the key to solving most of the core issues surrounding the planet and is the tool through which one can get out of the poverty cycle. Quality Education consists of three actors in general: Teachers, Students and The Administration. The teachers here play a pivotal role alongside the other actors. Several countries around the planet have taken several steps to achieve the targets of the UN.
This seminar focuses on the SDG-4 Quality Education, from the perspective of respective nations and researchers. The speakers will emphasize on the subunits of the goals of the UN, including the way a country can achieve those.
