​Article-এর অপর নাম: Adjective (Demonstrative Adjective).

​উৎপত্তি: One = a = an এবং this, that, these, those = the.

​ভাওয়েল ও কনসোনেন্ট: Vowel (a, e, i, o, u) — এর মধ্যে 'Y' একটি বিশেষ ভাওয়েল. মোট ভাওয়েল সাউন্ড ২০টি এবং কনসোনেন্ট বাকি ২১টি.

​A / An এর ব্যবহার

​Vowel Sound-এর আগে an বসে (যেমন: an engineer, an apple, an orange).

​Consonant Sound-এর আগে a বসে (যেমন: a girl, a boy, a student, a teacher, a man).

​U-এর উচ্চারণ:

​'U' যদি 'you' এর মতো উচ্চারিত হয়, তবে a বসে (যেমন: a unique, a utility, a useful, a university, a uniform, a universal).

​'U' যদি 'A' এর মতো উচ্চারিত হয়, তবে an বসে (যেমন: an umbrella, an uncultured man).

​H-এর উচ্চারণ: 'H' যদি 'O/অ' এর মতো উচ্চারিত হয়, তবে an বসে (যেমন: an herbal, an hour, an honest boy).

​O-এর উচ্চারণ: 'O' যদি 'w' বা 'ওয়াস' এর মতো উচ্চারিত হয়, তবে a বসে (যেমন: a one-taka, a one-eyed).

​ব্যতিক্রম: a history, a hotel — এদের আগে a বা an দুটিই বসতে পারে.

​সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপের (Abbreviations) আগে:

​Vowel soundযুক্ত সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপের আগে an বসে (যেমন: an F.C.P.S, an M.A, an L.L.B, an S.S.C, an H.S.C, an M.P, an M.ed, an FRCS).

​Consonant soundযুক্ত সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপের আগে a বসে (যেমন: a B.A., a B.B.A., a J.S.C., a BSc, a Bed, a BCS).

​The এর ব্যবহার

​Noun + of এর আগে: The teaching of, The way of, The Bay of, The name of, The guidance of, The rules of, The student of, The betterment of country.

​নির্দিষ্ট কিছু শব্দের পূর্বে: in the morning, in the class, in the field.

​Structure: The + Noun + Wh words / verb+ing / verb3 (যেমন: The book is written by Karim.).

​Repeated Word: কোনো শব্দ বা তথ্য দ্বিতীয়বার উল্লেখ করলে তার আগে the বসে (যেমন: He gave me a pen, The pen was black.).

​Cardinal Number & Superlative Degree: এদের আগে the হয় (যেমন: the best, the most beautiful, the 3^\text{rd} January, the 26^\text{th} March).

​দিক ও অদ্বিতীয় বস্তু:

​দিকের আগে (The South, The North, The East, The West).

​পৃথিবীতে মাত্র একটি আছে এমন বস্তুর আগে (The sun, The moon, The sky, The earth, The world).

​দেশের নাম: সাধারণ দেশের নামের আগে the বসে (যেমন: the Bangladesh,, তবে নামের সাথে kingdom, state বা republic থাকলে অথবা সংক্ষিপ্ত/পূর্ণরূপ হলে the বসে (যেমন: The U.K, The United States of America, The People's republic of Bangladesh).

​ঐতিহাসিক স্থান, নদী, সাগর, মহাসাগর, দ্বীপ ও মরুভূমি: এদের নামের আগে the বসে (যেমন: The Titanic, The Al-Quran, The Tajmahal, The Padma, The Atlantic Ocean, The Sahara, The Maldives).

​Cross (X) Article বা যেখানে আর্টিকেল বসে না

​ব্যক্তি, স্থান ও সময়: Person, Place (যেমন: Bangladesh, Patiya), এবং Time (যেমন: 9 o'clock) এর আগে সাধারণত ক্রস (\times) বসে.

​ভাষা, খেলাধুলা ও বিষয়: Language (যেমন: English speak \times English), Sports (\times football), এবং Subjects (\times physics) এর আগে বসে না.

​খাবার ও Abstract Noun: Meals (breakfast, lunch) এবং Abstract Noun (honesty, kindness) এর আগে \times বসে.

​Determiners: One, Two, This, That, These, His, Her, My, Our, Some, All, Each, Every ইত্যাদির আগে কোনো আর্টিকেল বসে না.
