The 5 Main Types of Nouns
- Proper Noun: The specific name of a person, place, or thing. They always start with a capital letter (e.g., Dhaka, John).
- Common Noun: The general, everyday name for a person, place, or thing (e.g., city, boy).
- Collective Noun: A word that names a group of people or things as one unit (e.g., team, family, flock).
- Material Noun: A name for a raw material or physical substance used to make things. They cannot be counted (e.g., water, gold, wood).
- Abstract Noun: The name of an idea, quality, or feeling. You cannot touch or see them (e.g., honesty, bravery, happiness). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
