Gender-based violence (GBV) is a serious human rights violation that affects people of all genders, but disproportionately women and girls. It encompasses a wide range of harmful acts, including physical, sexual, emotional, and economic abuse. GBV is rooted in deeply ingrained gender inequalities and harmful social norms that perpetuate violence against women and girls.  

Types of Gender-Based Violence:

· Intimate Partner Violence (IPV): Physical, sexual, or emotional abuse by a current or former intimate partner.  

· Sexual Violence: Any sexual act committed against a person without their consent, including rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.  

· Female Genital Mutilation (FGM): The partial or total removal of external female genitalia for non-medical reasons.  

· Child Marriage: The marriage of a child under the age of 18.  

· Trafficking: The recruitment, transportation, or harboring of people for forced labor or sexual exploitation.  

· Germicide: The killing of women and girls.  

Consequences of Gender-Based Violence:

GBV has devastating physical, psychological, and social consequences for survivors. It can lead to:  

· Physical injuries  

· Mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD  

· Sexual and reproductive health problems  

· Economic hardship  

· Social isolation  

· Death  

Preventing Gender-Based Violence:

Preventing GBV requires a multi-faceted approach that addresses the root causes of gender inequality. Some key strategies include:  

· Challenging harmful gender norms and stereotypes  

· Promoting gender equality and women's empowerment

· Providing education and awareness programs  

· Strengthening legal frameworks and enforcing laws

· Supporting survivors of GBV

Let us forget all the differences between people, fat, thin, white, black, rich and poor, and let us not create any differences between people, in my view, we will respect and honor everyone. We will implement this in our respective educational institutions, this is our path for the future.
