AI in the Curriculum

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to reshape every sector of society so integrating AI into the education system is no longer optional it is essential. For Bangladesh, the first step is to include AI in the upcoming  national curriculum declared by Education Adviser, introducing students to fundamental AI concepts, ethical concerns and real-world applications. Early exposure will help prepare the next generation for AI-driven futures.

However, updating the curriculum alone is not enough. Teachers are the key drivers of educational change. Without proper training, they will be ill-equipped to teach or apply AI concepts effectively. Therefore, comprehensive AI training for secondary school teachers must follow curriculum reform. This training should focus on both technical understanding and practical classroom applications such as using AI tools for personalized instruction, automated evaluation and smart content delivery.

Equipping teachers with AI skills not only enhances their professional capacity but also empowers students to thrive in a future where AI will be central to every career. To ensure equity and effectiveness the Interim   Government must prioritize curriculum development and teacher training side by side creating a strong foundation for AI-integrated education across Bangladesh.
