According to the source, the application process began at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Teachers can apply for transfers by logging into the designated website using the user ID and password sent to their mobile phones. More than 3,000 applications had been submitted by Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the government issued a notice on August 18 regarding the transfer of MPO-enlisted teachers at private schools and colleges. The notice stated that the transfer process for all MPO-enlisted teachers—including heads of institutions, assistant heads, demonstrators, trade instructors and other teachers—would be implemented through software developed with technical assistance from Teletalk Bangladesh Limited, in accordance with the MPO-Enlisted Teachers Transfer Policy 2026 (Revised) issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.

According to the notice, teachers interested in transferring can apply online from August 21 to August 27 using the user ID and password sent to their mobile phones through the designated website.

Each applicant can apply to a maximum of three institutions in order of preference. After the applications are automatically verified through the software in accordance with the transfer policy, the authorities will issue transfer-based posting orders.

Teachers must apply for transfer to their own district as stated in their original job application. If there is no vacant post in their home district, they may apply for an available vacant post in any district within their division.

A teacher may also apply for a transfer to their spouse’s home district or to the district where their spouse works. In this case, the spouse must be employed by a government, semi-government, autonomous or MPO-enlisted educational institution. If information provided by the institution in the transfer software is found to be incorrect, the head of the institution and the applicant teacher will be held personally responsible.

A teacher becomes eligible to apply for a transfer after completing at least two years of service following their initial appointment. After transferring to a new workplace, the teacher must serve there for at least two years before becoming eligible to apply for another transfer.

Applications containing incomplete or incorrect information will not be considered. If it is proven that an applicant intentionally provided false information, it will be treated as a punishable offence.

A transfer cannot be claimed as a right solely on the basis of submitting an application. Teachers transferred under the process will not be entitled to any travelling allowance (TA) or daily allowance (DA).

The head of the concerned institution must ensure that the transferred teacher is released from their current workplace within 10 days of the issuance of the transfer order. The teacher must join the new workplace within 10 days of being released. The period from release to joining the new workplace will be counted as part of the teacher’s service period.

Teachers against whom a stop-payment order, temporary suspension or criminal case is currently in effect will not be eligible for transfer.

The authorities may, under any circumstances, modify, amend or cancel the relevant orders. The notice, issue
