A liar cowboy story is one of the most frequently asked completing stories in class 6, 7, 8, SSC and even HSC exams in Bangladesh. A cowboy boy named Rakib shouts "Tiger! Tiger!" for fun twice; the villagers rush to help both times and find it is only a joke — so when a real tiger finally comes, nobody believes his true cry for help. The moral hits hard: nobody believes a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

Here you get the full exam-grade story, the moral in English and Bengali, a complete āĻŦāĻžāĻ‚āϞāĻž āĻ…āĻ°ā§āĻĨāϏāĻš with a vocabulary table, exam tips, a short version for juniors, and answers to the most-asked questions.

A Liar Cowboy Completing Story

Complete the story from the given beginning:

Once there lived a cowboy in a village. He was a great liar. He had a bad habit of telling lies for fun...

His name was Rakib. He was a young cowherd who looked after his master's cattle in the fields near the village. Rakib was cheerful, but he had one terrible habit — he loved to frighten people with false news for fun. Whenever he felt bored, he would run towards the village shouting at the top of his voice, "Tiger! Tiger! A tiger has come to the field!"

The villagers were simple and kind-hearted people. Hearing his cry, they dropped their work and ran to the field with sticks in their hands. But when they reached there, they found Rakib laughing at them. "Ha! Ha! There is no tiger here. I only played a joke on you," he said, rolling on the grass with laughter.

The poor villagers felt angry and ashamed. Still, being kind, they forgave him and went back to work. But Rakib did not learn. He played the same cruel joke a second time. Again the villagers ran to help him, carrying sticks and tools. Again they found him laughing loudly. "You are fools! You believed me again!" he shouted, clapping his hands in delight.

Now the villagers were really angry. "This boy is a liar," they said to one another. "He only tells lies for fun. We shall never believe him again."

A few days passed. One hot afternoon, Rakib was sitting under a tree watching his cattle graze. Suddenly, a real tiger came out of the nearby forest. Its eyes were red like burning coals, and its teeth were sharp. Rakib's face turned white with fear. His hands and feet began to tremble. Forgetting everything, he ran towards the village as fast as his legs could carry him, crying, "Tiger! Tiger! Help! A real tiger has come! Please help me!"

But this time nobody moved. The farmers kept working in their fields. "Do not listen to him," said one old farmer. "It is only Rakib's joke again. Let him laugh alone." The others nodded and went on with their work.

Rakib cried and cried until his throat was dry, but not a single man came to help him. Meanwhile, the tiger sprang upon the cattle and killed two fine cows. Rakib stood watching in tears. His heart was broken — not only for the dead cattle, but for his own foolishness. He fell to the ground and wept, "O what a fool I am! I told so many lies that nobody believes me even when I speak the truth."

When his master heard what had happened, he dismissed Rakib. From that day, Rakib became an honest boy and never told a lie again. The villagers forgave him, but they never forgot his story. Even today, the old people of the village tell their children, "Do not be like Rakib the cowboy. Nobody believes a liar, even when he speaks the truth."

Moral of the Story: A Liar Cowboy Story

Moral: Nobody believes a liar, even when he speaks the truth.

Rakib's lying habit seemed harmless — it was only a joke. But each lie destroyed a little of the villagers' trust. When real danger came, that trust was gone, and his master lost two valuable cows. Truthfulness is not just a good habit — it is our greatest treasure in danger. Once people stop believing us, even our true cries for help fall on deaf ears.

A Liar Cowboy Story — Short Version for Class 6-7

Once there lived a cowboy in a village. He was a great liar. He had a bad habit of telling lies for fun. One day, he ran to the village shouting, "Tiger! Tiger!" The villagers ran to help him with sticks in their hands, but found him laughing at them. He played the same joke a second time. Then the villagers said, "We shall never believe this liar again." A few days later, a real tiger came and attacked his cattle. The cowboy cried, "Tiger! Tiger! Help me!" But nobody came, for they thought it was another joke. The tiger killed two cows. The cowboy wept and learned his lesson at last.

Moral: Nobody believes a liar, even when he speaks the truth.
