Merits and Demerits of Mobile Phone Dialogue for Class 6, 7, 8, SSC, HSC

The mobile phone is one of the greatest wonders of modern science. It has changed our lives more than any other invention of recent times. Merits and Demerits of Mobile Phone Dialogue for Class 6-7

This easy dialogue is for Class 6 and Class 7 students. The English is simple and the sentences are short. Two friends, Rafi and Siam, are talking in the school field after class.

Rafi: Good morning, Siam. You look very happy today. What is the matter?

Siam: Good morning, Rafi. My father bought me a mobile phone yesterday. So I am very happy.

Rafi: That is great! A mobile phone is very useful. What do you use it for?

Siam: I talk to my grandmother who lives in the village. I also watch educational videos and play games.

Rafi: A mobile phone helps us communicate with people in any corner of the world within seconds.

Siam: Yes. It also helps us in our studies. We can read books and learn new things from the internet.

Rafi: But a mobile phone has some demerits too, does it not?

Siam: Yes, it does. If we use it for a long time, it harms our eyes and our health.

Rafi: Some students waste a lot of time playing games and watching videos on their phones.

Siam: That is true. They neglect their studies and get bad results in the examinations.

Rafi: So we should use the mobile phone carefully and only for good purposes.

Siam: You are right. A mobile phone is a good servant but a bad master.

Rafi: Thank you, Siam. I have learned a very good lesson today.

Merits and Demerits of Mobile Phone Dialogue for Class 8-9

This dialogue is for Class 8 and Class 9 students. The language is a little richer and the ideas are more organized. Two friends, Arif and Fahim, are talking in the school library.

Arif: Hello, Fahim. I see you are using your new mobile phone. How do you like it?

Fahim: Hello, Arif. I like it very much. A mobile phone is a wonder of modern science.

Arif: What are the merits of a mobile phone?

Fahim: First, it has made communication very easy and fast. We can talk to anyone in the world at any time. Second, we can use the internet, send emails, and read news on it.

Arif: It also helps students a lot, does it not?

Fahim: Yes. Students can learn from online classes, watch educational videos, and search for information on any topic. During the coronavirus pandemic, mobile phones kept our education alive.

Arif: That is true. But what about the demerits of a mobile phone?

Fahim: The greatest demerit is addiction. Many students spend hours on games, social media, and videos. They lose concentration and waste their valuable time.

Arif: I have also heard that mobile phones are harmful for health.

Fahim: Yes. Using a mobile phone for a long time causes eye strain, headache, and sleeplessness. The radiation from mobile phones is also harmful, especially for children.

Arif: Criminals also misuse mobile phones, do they not?

Fahim: Yes, they do. Criminals use mobile phones to cheat people, spread rumours, and commit crimes. Young people sometimes get involved in immoral activities through mobile phones.

Arif: So a mobile phone is both a blessing and a curse. It depends on how we use it.

Fahim: Exactly. We should use it for good purposes and avoid its misuse. That is the wise way.

Merits and Demerits of Mobile Phone Dialogue for SSC

This dialogue is for SSC students. The vocabulary is richer and the arguments are deeper. Two friends, Tanvir and Sabbir, are discussing the merits and demerits of mobile phone in the school common room.

Tanvir: Good afternoon, Sabbir. We are going to have a class debate on the merits and demerits of mobile phone. What is your opinion?

Sabbir: Good afternoon, Tanvir. In my opinion, the mobile phone is one of the greatest blessings of modern science, but it becomes a curse when we misuse it.

Tanvir: Let us first discuss the merits. What are the main advantages of a mobile phone?

Sabbir: The greatest merit is instant communication. We can talk to anyone, anywhere, at any time. We can send text messages, photos, and videos within seconds. In an emergency, a mobile phone can save a life.

Tanvir: It has also changed our economic life. We can do mobile banking, pay bills, and shop online from home.

Sabbir: Absolutely. And for students, it is a great learning tool. We can attend online classes, read e-books, watch educational videos, and prepare for examinations.

Tanvir: Now tell me about the demerits. What are the main disadvantages?

Sabbir: The greatest demerit is addiction. Many students are addicted to games, social media, and short videos. They stay up late at night, lose sleep, and cannot concentrate on their studies.

Tanvir: It also harms our health and social life, does it not?

Sabbir: Yes. Excessive use causes eye problems, headaches, back pain, and sleeplessness. It also makes people unsocial. Even at family gatherings, everyone stares at their phones instead of talking to one another.

Tanvir: What about crimes through mobile phones?

Sabbir: That is another serious demerit. Criminals use mobile phones for fraud, blackmail, and spreading rumours. Young people can easily be exposed to harmful and immoral content.

Tanvir: So the conclusion is clear: the mobile phone itself is neither good nor bad. It is our use that makes it a blessing or a curse.

Sabbir: Exactly. We should use it wisely, limit our screen time, and never let it control our lives.

Merits and Demerits of Mobile Phone Dialogue for HSC

This dialogue is for HSC students. The English is mature, and the discussion covers economic, educational, health, and social aspects of mobile phones. Two college friends, Rahat and Nabil, are talking in the college library.

Rahat: Hello, Nabil. I read an article today that called the mobile phone "the most powerful tool and the most dangerous addiction of our time." Do you agree?

Nabil: Hello, Rahat. I completely agree. The mobile phone has brought the whole world into our pockets, but it has also brought new problems we never imagined.

Rahat: Let us start with the merits. How has the mobile phone changed our lives for the better?

Nabil: In countless ways. It has made communication instant and cheap. A farmer in a village can check market prices on his phone. A student can attend classes from the best teachers in the world. Doctors can advise patients in remote areas through video calls.

Rahat: It has also created a new economy. Mobile banking, online business, freelancing, and ride-sharing have created millions of jobs in Bangladesh.

Nabil: Exactly. During natural disasters, mobile phones save lives by spreading early warnings. During the pandemic, they kept education, business, and family connections alive.

Rahat: Now the other side. What are the serious demerits?

Nabil: The most alarming demerit is addiction, especially among the youth. Endless scrolling, gaming, and social media notifications are designed to keep us hooked. Many students lose their concentration, sleep, and academic performance.

Rahat: There are health risks too: eye strain, neck pain, sleeplessness, anxiety, and depression. Some researchers also warn about radiation.

Nabil: And there are social costs. Families sit together but live in separate digital worlds. Fake news and rumours spread within seconds through mobile phones and can even create unrest. Cybercrime, fraud, and harassment have increased.

Rahat: So what is the solution? We cannot give up mobile phones.

Nabil: No, we cannot, and we should not. The solution is disciplined use: fixed screen time, no phones during study and family time, and using the phone for learning and productive work. Parents and teachers must also guide students.

Rahat: Well said. A mobile phone is a good servant but a bad master. If we control it, it remains a blessing.
