Short Biography of Helen Keller

    Helen Keller was an American author, political activist and advocate of the rights of disabled people all over the world. She was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, the USA. Her father was Arthur Keler and her mother was Katherine Adam Keller. She lost her sight and her hearing after a bout of illness when she was 19 months old. She then communicated primarily using home signs until the age of seven. Then She met Anne Sullivan who taught Keller language, including reading and writing.
