This PowerPoint lesson is designed for Class Three English, Unit 7, Lesson 4: “Sing a Rainbow,” Session 96. The lesson focuses on reading, recitation, comprehension, colour vocabulary, and joyful participation through rhyme and movement.
The class begins with a quick review of the seven rainbow colours—red, yellow, indigo, green, violet, orange, and blue. Students observe a rainbow picture, identify the colours, and practise saying their names. The rhyme is then presented in short, manageable parts so that learners with weak foundational literacy skills can follow easily.
Students practise the rhyme through teacher modelling, follow-and-repeat, choral reading, group recitation, individual recitation, and Total Physical Response (TPR). Pair activities encourage one student to recite while another listens and identifies the colour words.
The lesson also includes writing the names of the seven colours and drawing a rainbow using all the colours mentioned in the rhyme. A classroom “Rainbow Gallery” encourages creativity and confidence.
