The Art of SIlence

The science on meditation is unambiguous. Recent research on the mind’s ability to rejuvenate itself, its capacity for change, its ability to regenerate new neurons and neural pathways has become common knowledge. Increasingly, the research on meditation is becoming clear. Study after study is now revealing how meditation can help with healing and well being.

Research has shown that a meditation practice can bring about greater focus as well as a sense of calm. By decreasing stress levels, pain—both psychological and physical—can be managed more effectively. Meditation can foster emotional balance and empathy, thereby improving our relationships, from the casual to the most intimate. And these effects are permanent. They are brought about partially through our mind and body’s ability to renew itself down to the cellular level. Finally, research has even shown that meditation can improve the sense of self as well as that self’s outlook on the world and its relationship with reality.
