Web Based Result With Marksheet HSC 2026 | Check HSC Result Online With Marksheet
The HSC Result 2026 will be published on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at 11:00 AM, and the web-based result system is the only way to see your full marksheet with subject-wise numbers. This guide explains the web-based result in complete detail: how eboardresults.com works, how educationboardresults.gov.bd works, how to check your individual result, your institution result, your centre result, and your district result, how to download and print your marksheet, and what to do when the websites are slow. Everything in this guide uses the corrected official facts.
Important correction — read this first. Many websites, videos, and older guides still say the HSC Result 2026 will be published on Thursday, 29 October 2026, and that the SMS number is 16222. Both facts changed on 27 October 2026. The Dhaka Education Board Chairman, Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, confirmed the result will be published on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the International Mother Language Institute. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee changed the result SMS number to 16140 — the old number 16222 no longer works for the HSC result. Every date, time, and SMS instruction in this guide uses the corrected facts. If another website tells you 29 October or 16222, that website has not been updated, and following it will waste your time on result day.

The 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations began on 2 July 2026. Written examinations were scheduled to end on 8 August 2026, and practical examinations were due to be completed by 15 August 2026. Written examinations under the Chattogram Education Board were postponed because of natural disasters, and after the postponed examinations were held, that board completed its written examinations on 9 September 2026. A total of 12,70,583 regular and irregular candidates sat for the examinations across 11 education boards: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Madrasah (Alim), and Technical (HSC BM/Vocational).
What Is a Web-Based HSC Result?
A web-based result is a result you check on a website, in a browser, on a phone or a computer. It is different from an SMS result in one important way: the website shows your complete marksheet, while the SMS shows only your GPA. When students search for "web based result with marksheet", they are looking for the full subject-wise result — every subject, every grade, every grade point — and only the web-based system gives it.
The web-based result publication system is the official platform at eboardresults.com, run by the education boards. It is the most detailed result system in the country. It covers all 11 boards, it keeps an archive of results from 1996 to 2026, and it offers four kinds of result: Individual Result, Institution Result, Centre Result, and District Result. The second official website, educationboardresults.gov.bd, is the central result portal run by the Ministry of Education and Teletalk Bangladesh. It is simpler and lighter, and it shows your GPA and subject-wise grades. Both websites are official, both are free, and both show the same official data. The difference is in the features: eboardresults.com gives you more result types and a more detailed marksheet, while educationboardresults.gov.bd loads faster when traffic is heavy.
The web-based result matters because the SMS result cannot answer the questions that matter after the examination. The SMS tells you "GPA 4.75" and nothing else. It does not tell you which subject gave you a B and which gave you an A+. It does not tell you whether your English grade is strong enough for the university programme you want. It does not tell you whether a board challenge is worth the fee for a specific paper. The web-based marksheet answers all of those questions, because it shows every subject line. That is why students who only check by SMS often come back to the websites later the same day — and why this guide focuses on the web method first, with SMS as the fast backup for the first hour.
How to Check Web Based Result With Marksheet on eboardresults.com
The eboardresults.com portal is the heart of the web-based result system. Follow these steps exactly, and keep your admit card beside you.
Open your browser and go to eboardresults.com.
In the Examination dropdown, select HSC/Alim/Equivalent.
In the Year dropdown, select 2026.
In the Board dropdown, select your education board.
In the Result Type dropdown, select Individual Result. This is the option for checking your own result with a full marksheet.
Enter your roll number, exactly as printed on your admit card. Roll numbers are six digits — type every digit, including a leading zero if your roll number starts with one.
Enter your registration number. The registration number is required for the detailed marksheet on this portal. Without it, you cannot see the subject-wise result.
Enter the security key. This is a captcha image showing distorted letters and numbers. Type the characters exactly as you see them. If you cannot read the image, click the Reload button to get a new one. Pay attention to characters that look alike, such as 0 and O, 1 and I, and 5 and S.
Click Get Result.
Your full marksheet appears on the screen, with every subject, every grade, and your overall GPA. Save it as a PDF immediately, using the browser print function, and take a screenshot as a backup.
If only your GPA appears at first, without the subject-wise marksheet, do not panic. On result day the boards sometimes release the GPA first and the full marksheet a few hours later, to manage server load. Wait two or three hours and check again — the subject-wise marksheet will be there. The same applies if you see a "result not found" message in the first hour: it usually means the database is still being updated for your board, not that your result does not exist.
Individual Result — Your Full Marksheet Explained
The Individual Result is the result type almost every student uses. It shows your name, roll number, registration number, board, institution, and examination year at the top, followed by every subject you sat, with the letter grade and grade point for each subject, and your overall GPA at the bottom.
Your subjects appear in a standard order: Bangla, English, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), your three group subjects, and your fourth subject (optional subject). Science students see Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Higher Mathematics. Business studies students see Accounting, Finance and Banking, and Business Organisation and Management or Production Management and Marketing. Humanities students see their three elective subjects, such as Economics, Civics and Good Governance, History, Logic, or Geography. Alim students see Arabic, Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and their other Madrasah subjects. Technical students see their trade subjects.
The letter grades run from A+ to F, and the grade points are: A+ 5.00, A 4.00, A- 3.50, B 3.00, C 2.00, D 1.00, F 0.00. The minimum passing mark per subject is 33 out of 100. If you fail even one compulsory subject, your overall result is F and your GPA is 0.00, no matter how well you did in the other subjects. The fourth subject has a special rule: only the grade points above 2.00 count towards your GPA. If you score A (4.00) in your fourth subject, 2.00 points are added. If you score B (3.00), 1.00 point is added. If you score 2.00 or less, nothing is added. A fail in the fourth subject alone cannot fail your overall result.
Check the top of your marksheet first: your name spelling, your roll number, and your registration number. If any of these are wrong, note it down and tell your institution, so your transcript and certificate are printed correctly. Then read every subject line. If a grade is much lower than you expected, that is the paper to consider for a board challenge, which opens on 1 November 2026 and runs to 7 November 2026, at ৳150 per paper.
Institution Result by EIIN — The Whole College at Once
The Institution Result is the most useful feature of the web-based system, and it is the one almost no result guide explains. It lets a college download the complete result sheet of all its students in a single PDF, using only the college EIIN number. Teachers, principals, and college administrators use it on result day to prepare their result lists, identify GPA-5 achievers, and plan counselling. Guardians with several children in the same college can also use it.
The EIIN is the Educational Institution Identification Number, a six-digit number assigned to every recognised institution in Bangladesh. Your college office knows it, and it is printed on many college documents and on the college website. It is public information, not a secret.
Go to eboardresults.com.
Select Examination: HSC/Alim/Equivalent.
Select Year: 2026.
Select your Board.
Select Result Type: Institution Result.
Enter the college EIIN number.
Enter the security key and click Get Result.
The complete institution result sheet downloads as a PDF, listing every student of that institution with roll numbers, names, GPAs, and subject-wise grades.
No individual registration number is needed for the Institution Result, which is why it is so much faster than checking one student at a time. The sheet is also the document colleges use for their notice boards and for reporting their pass rates. If you are a student and you want to see how your college performed overall, ask your college office for the EIIN, or ask a teacher to share the institution sheet after it is downloaded.
Centre Result and District Result — Results by Place
The web-based system offers two more result types that work by place rather than by student. Centre Result shows the results of every student who sat at one particular examination centre. District Result shows the results of every student in a district. To use them, select Examination, Year, and Board, then choose Centre Result or District Result, select the centre or district from the list, enter the security key, and click Get Result. The result sheet downloads as a PDF.
These options are used by district education officers, journalists, researchers, and anyone comparing performance across centres or districts. They are also useful for a guardian who knows the centre where their child sat but not the exact roll number — although the individual result by roll number is always faster for a single student. The centre and district sheets are large files, so download them on a computer rather than a phone, and be patient while they generate.
The Result Archive — Checking Results From 1996 to 2026
The eboardresults.com system keeps an archive going back to 1996. If you need an old result — for a job application, for a lost transcript, for verifying an educational history, or for checking a previous year's result — select the year you need instead of 2026 and follow the same steps. The archive covers SSC and HSC results across all boards. Note that the SMS method does not work for old results; the archive is online only. If an old year shows no data for a particular board, it usually means that board's records for that year were not digitised, and the board office is the only source for a certified copy. Keep this in mind if you are helping a family member check a result from many years ago: the archive is the first place to look, and it is free.
How to Check HSC Result Online on educationboardresults.gov.bd
The central portal at educationboardresults.gov.bd is the simpler of the two official websites, and it is the one to try first when traffic is heavy, because its pages are light and load faster.
Open your browser and go to educationboardresults.gov.bd.
In the Examination box, select HSC/Alim/Equivalent.
In the Year box, select 2026.
In the Board box, select your education board.
Enter your 6-digit roll number exactly as printed on your admit card.
Enter your registration number. Your registration number is needed to see the detailed marksheet with subject-wise numbers.
Solve the security captcha. This is a simple addition sum, for example 4 + 5 = 9. Type the answer in the box.
Click Submit.
Your result appears with your GPA and your subject-wise grades. Save the page as a PDF or take a screenshot immediately.
If the page does not load, do not press refresh again and again. Every refresh adds load to the server. Wait one or two minutes, then try once. If it still does not load, switch to eboardresults.com, or use the SMS method to 16140 to confirm your GPA first, then return to the websites after an hour. The result does not disappear — it stays available on the official websites for months.
Web Based Result Versus SMS Result — Which One Should You Use?
Students often ask which method is better. The honest answer is that they serve different purposes, and the smartest approach on result day is to use both: SMS for speed, the web for detail.
Feature | Web-Based Result | SMS Result |
What you see | Full marksheet: every subject, grade, grade point, GPA | GPA only |
Subject-wise numbers | Yes | No |
What you need | Roll number + registration number | Roll number only |
Where it works | Any browser, phone or computer | Any mobile phone, even without internet |
Speed on result day | Slow in the first 1–2 hours | Fast, usually within minutes |
Cost | Free (internet data only) | SMS charge applies per message |
Best for | Marksheet, admission forms, board challenge decisions | Quick GPA confirmation |
Can you download a PDF | Yes | No — save the reply message |
Institution/centre/district results | Yes, on eboardresults.com | No |
Works before 11:00 AM | No | No |
Use the SMS method at 11:00 AM to learn your GPA within minutes, even if the websites are down. Then use the web method an hour or two later to see your full marksheet with numbers. Do not rely on SMS alone if you are planning a board challenge, because the challenge decision needs subject-wise grades, and only the web marksheet shows them. Do not rely on the web alone if you are anxious and the websites are slow, because the SMS gives you the answer while the websites are still loading.
How to Check HSC Result by SMS to 16140
The SMS method works on any mobile phone, including a basic feature phone with no internet. Open the messaging app and type the SMS in this exact format:
HSC <board code> <roll number> 2026
Then send it to 16140. For example, a Dhaka Board student with roll number 123456 types HSC DHA 123456 2026 and sends it to 16140. A Rajshahi Board student types HSC RAJ 654321 2026. Replace the board code with the first three letters of your board, and replace the roll number with your own roll number. Do not add extra words, commas, or symbols. Do not send the SMS before 11:00 AM on Saturday, 31 October 2026.
Alim students type Alim MAD <roll> 2026, for example Alim MAD 123456 2026, sent to 16140. Technical Board students type HSC TEC <roll> 2026, for example HSC TEC 123456 2026, sent to 16140.
The reply SMS shows your GPA. Save that message. If the reply does not arrive within ten minutes, do not send the same SMS again and again. Wait at least ten minutes, check that you typed the format correctly, and then send it once more. The old number 16222 no longer works for the HSC result — use 16140 only.
HSC Result 2026 Board Codes — Full Table
Board | SMS Code | SMS Example (Roll 123456) |
Dhaka | DHA | HSC DHA 123456 2026 |
Rajshahi | RAJ | HSC RAJ 123456 2026 |
Cumilla | COM | HSC COM 123456 2026 |
Jashore | JES | HSC JES 123456 2026 |
Chattogram | CHI | HSC CHI 123456 2026 |
Barishal | BAR | HSC BAR 123456 2026 |
Sylhet | SYL | HSC SYL 123456 2026 |
Dinajpur | DIN | HSC DIN 123456 2026 |
Mymensingh | MYM | HSC MYM 123456 2026 |
Madrasah (Alim) | MAD | Alim MAD 123456 2026 |
Technical (BM/Vocational) | TEC | HSC TEC 123456 2026 |
The most common SMS mistake is using the wrong board code. Cumilla is COM, not CUM. Chattogram is CHI, not CHA or CTG. Jashore is JES, not JAS. Barishal is BAR, not BOR. Check the table before you send the SMS, and check your admit card — the board name is printed on it. The second most common mistake is typing the year wrong: the format ends with 2026, your examination year. Do not type 2025, and do not leave the year out.
For the complete SMS guide with every board, every format, and every error message, read the HSC result SMS guide. For the full result date, time, and publication details, read the HSC result 2026 full guide. For the all-boards result guide, read the HSC result all boards guide.
Understanding Your Marksheet — GPA, Grades, and Subject Numbers
The web-based marksheet shows more than a single GPA, and reading it correctly matters. This section explains the grading system, shows worked examples with different subject combinations from the usual guides, and explains the fourth subject rule that confuses students every year.
The Grading Scale
The education boards use a standard seven-tier grading system. The minimum passing mark per subject is 33 out of 100. Scoring 32 or less in any compulsory subject is a fail in that subject, and a fail in any compulsory subject means an overall fail with GPA 0.00.
Letter Grade | Marks Range | Grade Point |
A+ | 80–100 | 5.00 |
A | 70–79 | 4.00 |
A- | 60–69 | 3.50 |
B | 50–59 | 3.00 |
C | 40–49 | 2.00 |
D | 33–39 | 1.00 |
F | 0–32 | 0.00 |
GPA 5.00, called GPA-5, means A+ in every subject that counts. In 2025, a total of 69,097 students across all boards achieved GPA-5, and the national pass rate was 58.83 percent. Those two numbers are the benchmark for 2026: students, parents, and colleges are all watching whether the pass rate recovers and how many GPA-5 results this year produces.
How GPA Is Calculated — The Formula
GPA is the average of the grade points of your six main subjects, with the fourth subject contributing only the points above 2.00. The formula is: add the grade points of the six main subjects, add the fourth subject's grade points above 2.00 (if any), then divide the total by 6. The result is capped at 5.00 — it can never go above GPA-5.
Worked Example 1 — A Business Studies Student at GPA 4.58
Take a business studies student with these grades: Bangla A+ (5.00), English A (4.00), ICT A+ (5.00), Accounting A (4.00), Finance and Banking A+ (5.00), Business Organisation and Management A- (3.50). The sum is 5.00 + 4.00 + 5.00 + 4.00 + 5.00 + 3.50 = 26.50. The fourth subject is Production Management and Marketing with an A+ (5.00), so 3.00 extra points are added (5.00 minus 2.00). Total = 29.50. Divide by 6: 29.50 divided by 6 = 4.92. This student's GPA is 4.92. The fourth subject lifted the GPA from 4.42 to 4.92 — a large lift, because the fourth subject was a full A+.
Worked Example 2 — A Science Student at GPA 4.08
Take a science student with these grades: Bangla A (4.00), English A- (3.50), ICT A (4.00), Physics B (3.00), Chemistry A (4.00), Higher Mathematics A+ (5.00). The sum is 4.00 + 3.50 + 4.00 + 3.00 + 4.00 + 5.00 = 23.50. The fourth subject is Biology with a B (3.00), so 1.00 extra point is added. Total = 24.50. Divide by 6: 24.50 divided by 6 = 4.08. This student's GPA is 4.08. This example shows how a single B in Physics and a B in the fourth subject hold the GPA down, even with an A+ in Higher Mathematics. If the same student had scored A in Physics instead of B, the sum would be 24.50, plus 1.00 for the fourth subject, giving 25.50 / 6 = 4.25.
Worked Example 3 — A Humanities Student at GPA 4.83
Take a humanities student with these grades: Bangla A+ (5.00), English A+ (5.00), ICT A (4.00), Economics A (4.00), Civics and Good Governance A+ (5.00), History A (4.00). The sum is 5.00 + 5.00 + 4.00 + 4.00 + 5.00 + 4.00 = 27.00. The fourth subject is Geography with an A (4.00), so 2.00 extra points are added. Total = 29.00. Divide by 6: 29.00 / 6 = 4.83. This student's GPA is 4.83. Notice that English matters enormously here: the A+ in English is doing as much work as any other subject, and students who neglect English often lose GPA-5 because of that one paper.
Worked Example 4 — How the Fourth Subject Can and Cannot Help
Take a student with A in all six main subjects: 4.00 × 6 = 24.00. If the fourth subject is an A+ (5.00), 3.00 points are added: 27.00 / 6 = 4.50. If the fourth subject is a D (1.00), nothing is added, because 1.00 is below 2.00: 24.00 / 6 = 4.00. The difference between a strong fourth subject and a weak one is 0.50 of GPA in this case — significant, but not decisive. And if the fourth subject is an F, the result is still a pass, because the fourth subject cannot fail you. The lesson is simple: the fourth subject is a bonus, not a safety net. Your six main subjects decide your result.
Why Two Students With the Same GPA Are Not Equal
Two students can both have GPA 4.50 with completely different subject profiles. One might be strong in science and weak in English; the other strong in English and weak in mathematics. Their university admission prospects are different, because admission tests and subject requirements weigh specific subjects. Medical admission weighs Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Engineering admission weighs Physics, Chemistry, and Higher Mathematics. Business programmes weigh Accounting and Finance. That is why the web-based marksheet matters more than the SMS GPA: the SMS gives you one number, and the marksheet gives you the profile behind it. Read the whole marksheet, not just the GPA line, before you plan your admission applications.
How to Download, Save, Print, and Share Your Web Result
You should save a copy of your marksheet on result day, because the official websites become slow and sometimes unreachable for hours, and because you will need the marksheet for university admission forms, college applications, and board challenge applications.
Download as PDF on Android
Open your result on educationboardresults.gov.bd or eboardresults.com in Chrome. Tap the three-dot menu at the top right. Tap Share, then tap Print. In the print screen, change the printer to "Save as PDF". Tap the PDF button or the download icon. Choose a folder, name the file clearly — for example "HSC-Result-2026-Your-Name" — and save it. Open the saved PDF and check that it shows your full marksheet, including your name, roll number, and every subject, before you close the browser.
Download as PDF on iPhone
Open your result in Safari. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down and tap Print. On the print preview screen, pinch outwards on the preview image with two fingers — this converts the preview into a PDF. Tap the Share button again and choose "Save to Files". Pick a folder, name the file, and save it. Open the Files app and check that the PDF shows your complete marksheet.
Download as PDF on a Computer
Open your result in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. Press Ctrl+P on Windows or Command+P on Mac. In the print dialog, change the destination printer to "Save as PDF" or "Microsoft Print to PDF". Set the layout to Portrait and turn on the option for background graphics, so the page header and your details are included. Click Save, choose a folder, and name the file. Open the saved PDF and check that nothing is cut off at the edges. If a column is missing, change the paper size to A4 and set the margins to minimum, then save again.
How to Print Your Marksheet
Print from the PDF you saved, not from the browser page directly, because the PDF keeps the layout fixed. Use A4 paper — black and white is fine — and print one copy for yourself plus one copy for your guardian. Keep the printed copy in a folder with your admit card, registration card, and SSC marksheet. Do not laminate the printout. The original transcript and certificate arrive later from your institution, and the printout is only a provisional record.
Is a Saved PDF an Official Marksheet?
A PDF saved from the official website is a provisional record, not the original academic transcript. It is accepted for university admission forms, for college applications, and as proof of your result in almost every situation until the original transcript arrives. The original transcript and certificate are printed by the board and distributed through your institution, usually several weeks after the result. Nobody can give you the original transcript on result day. Any person or website that offers to sell you an "original" marksheet or certificate is running a scam.
Sharing Your Result Safely
Students often share their result on social media within minutes of checking it. Before you share anything, think about what the screenshot shows: your full name, your roll number, your registration number, your institution, and your grades. That is personal information, and strangers can misuse it. If you want to celebrate online, share only your GPA as text — for example, "Alhamdulillah, GPA 5.00" — without a screenshot of the marksheet. Never post the full marksheet publicly. Never share another student's marksheet, even with good intentions. If a college or office needs your result, send the PDF directly to them, not through a public post.
What If the PDF Is Blank or Incomplete?
If your saved PDF is blank, the print page probably loaded before the result data arrived. Go back to the result page, wait until every subject line is visible on the screen, and save the PDF again. If the PDF is cut off on the right side, change the page orientation to Landscape or reduce the scale to 80 percent in the print dialog. If a subject row is missing from the PDF but visible on the screen, take a screenshot of the full page as well. On a phone, take a scrolling screenshot if your phone supports it, or take two or three overlapping screenshots that cover the whole marksheet.
Web Based HSC Result 2026 for Each Education Board
The web-based result is published for all 11 boards at the same time: Saturday, 31 October 2026, at 11:00 AM. There is no separate publication time for any board. The checking steps are identical for every board — only the board selection in the dropdown and the SMS code change. This section gives the web-result details for each board.
Dhaka Board Web Result 2026
Dhaka Board students select "Dhaka" on eboardresults.com and educationboardresults.gov.bd, and use the SMS code DHA. The SMS format is HSC DHA <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. Dhaka is the largest board, so its students face the heaviest website traffic on result day. If the central portals are slow, check by SMS first, then open the full marksheet on eboardresults.com after an hour. Dhaka Board results are also published on the board website. For the all-boards overview and the Dhaka Board guide, read the HSC result all boards guide.
Rajshahi Board Web Result 2026
Rajshahi Board students select "Rajshahi" and use the SMS code RAJ. The SMS format is HSC RAJ <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. Rajshahi traditionally records a high pass rate, and its students should read the full web marksheet carefully — the board challenge window of 1–7 November 2026 applies to Rajshahi students exactly as it does to every other board, at ৳150 per paper.
Cumilla Board Web Result 2026
Cumilla Board students select "Cumilla" and use the SMS code COM, not CUM. The SMS format is HSC COM <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. On the websites, the board appears as "Cumilla" in the dropdown — do not look for "Comilla" with an O, because the dropdown uses the current official spelling.
Jashore Board Web Result 2026
Jashore Board students select "Jashore" and use the SMS code JES, not JAS. The SMS format is HSC JES <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. The board code uses the current official spelling JES, and the website dropdown also lists the board as "Jashore".
Chattogram Board Web Result 2026
Chattogram Board students select "Chattogram" and use the SMS code CHI, not CHA or CTG. The SMS format is HSC CHI <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. Chattogram students should remember that their written examinations finished later than other boards, on 9 September 2026, because of the postponed papers — but the web result is published on the same day, 31 October 2026, at 11:00 AM, together with all other boards.
Barishal Board Web Result 2026
Barishal Board students select "Barishal" and use the SMS code BAR, not BOR. The SMS format is HSC BAR <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. Barishal students checking online should select "Barishal" in the board dropdown.
Sylhet Board Web Result 2026
Sylhet Board students select "Sylhet" and use the SMS code SYL. The SMS format is HSC SYL <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. Sylhet is one of the smaller boards by candidate numbers, and its students usually find the websites loading faster than students of the larger boards.
Dinajpur Board Web Result 2026
Dinajpur Board students select "Dinajpur" and use the SMS code DIN. The SMS format is HSC DIN <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. Dinajpur students should keep their admit card ready, because the roll number is the single most important detail — a single wrong digit gives a "result not found" message on the web portal.
Mymensingh Board Web Result 2026
Mymensingh Board students select "Mymensingh" and use the SMS code MYM. The SMS format is HSC MYM <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. Mymensingh is the newest general board. Students who previously appeared under the Dhaka Board must select Mymensingh now — selecting the wrong board is one of the most common reasons for a "result not found" error on the web portal.
Alim Web Result 2026 — Madrasah Education Board
Alim students select "Madrasah" on the result websites and use the SMS code MAD. The SMS format is Alim MAD <roll> 2026, sent to 16140 — note the first word is Alim, not HSC. The Alim web marksheet shows Arabic, Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and the other Madrasah subjects, with the same grading scale and GPA system as the general boards. The board challenge window of 1–7 November 2026 and the fee of ৳150 per paper apply to Alim students as well.
Technical Board Web Result 2026 — HSC (BM) and HSC (Vocational)
Technical Board students select "Technical" on the result websites and use the SMS code TEC. The SMS format is HSC TEC <roll> 2026, sent to 16140. In 2025, the Technical Board recorded a pass rate of 62.67 percent, above the national average of 58.83 percent, with 1,610 GPA-5 achievers. Technical students should check their trade subjects on the web marksheet carefully, because the subject names differ from the general boards.
Troubleshooting Web Based Result Problems
The Website Does Not Load
More than a million students and their families open the same two websites at the same time, and the servers slow down. Wait one or two minutes and try once. Do not refresh repeatedly — every refresh adds load. Try the other official website. Try your board website. If nothing loads, send the SMS to 16140 to get your GPA, and return to the websites after one or two hours. The result stays available for months.
The Form Loads But Nothing Happens After Submit
The database may still be updating for your board. Wait thirty minutes and try again. Check that you selected the correct examination (HSC/Alim/Equivalent), the correct year (2026), and the correct board. A wrong year is a common mistake — students sometimes leave the year on 2025 from a previous check.
"Result Not Found" on the Website
This usually means the roll number is wrong, the registration number is wrong, the board selection is wrong, or the year is wrong. Check your admit card digit by digit. Roll numbers are six digits — check for a missing zero at the start. Check the board: Mymensingh students must select Mymensingh, not Dhaka. Check the year: 2026, not 2025. If everything is correct and the message persists in the first hour, the database may not have finished loading your board — wait and try again. If it persists after several hours, contact your institution, because there may be a problem with your record, such as a withheld result.
Captcha Error
The mathematics captcha on educationboardresults.gov.bd is simple, but students mistype it under stress. Read the sum carefully. On eboardresults.com, the captcha is an image of distorted letters and numbers. Type exactly what you see, paying attention to similar-looking characters such as 0 and O, 1 and I, 5 and S. If you cannot read the image, click Reload for a new one. After three failed captcha attempts, wait a minute before trying again.
Blank Result Page
A blank page after submitting usually means the page loaded before the data arrived. Press the back button, re-enter your details, and submit again. If the page is still blank, try a different browser. Clear your browser cache if the problem continues, because a cached error page can keep reloading instead of the real result.
Only the GPA Shows, No Subject-Wise Marksheet
This is normal in the first hours. The boards release the GPA first and the full subject-wise marksheet a few hours later, to manage server load. Wait two or three hours and check again. Do not assume your marksheet is missing.
The Result Shows Unexpected Information
If the name, roll number, or subjects do not match yours, stop immediately and do not share the page. You may have entered another student's roll number by mistake, or the system may have returned a cached result. Re-enter your own details carefully. If the problem continues, contact your institution and the board office with your admit card. Never share another student's result online.
SMS Reply Never Arrives
Check three things: the format (HSC, board code, roll, 2026, single spaces), the number (16140, not the old 16222), and the time (after 11:00 AM on 31 October 2026). If all three are correct, wait another ten minutes — the SMS system is heavily loaded on result day. Then send the message once more. Do not send it five or six times in a row. Also check that your mobile balance is sufficient for an SMS and that your phone has network signal.
The Website Shows an Old Result
If the website shows a 2025 result or another student's data, your browser may be showing a cached page. Clear the cache, or open the website in a private or incognito window, and enter your details again. Make sure the year dropdown says 2026 before you submit.
Result Day Timeline — Hour by Hour on 31 October 2026
10:30 AM — Get ready. Keep your admit card, registration card, a pen, and a piece of paper beside you. Write down your roll number, your registration number, and your board code. Charge your phone. Open the two official websites in two browser tabs.
11:00 AM — The result is published. The formal announcement is made at the International Mother Language Institute, and at the same moment the result goes live on the official websites and the SMS system starts answering. Send your SMS to 16140 now for the fastest confirmation. The reply usually arrives within a few minutes, but it can take up to ten minutes on result day.
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM — The heaviest traffic. The websites load slowly, forms time out, and captchas fail. Do not panic. If you already have your GPA from the SMS, you have the most important information. Try the websites once every fifteen or twenty minutes. Do not refresh again and again.
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM — Traffic starts to fall. The websites become usable again. This is the best time to check your full marksheet with subject-wise numbers, save the PDF, and print a copy. Most students who wait until the afternoon get their marksheet in one smooth attempt.
4:00 PM to 8:00 PM — Colleges collect results. Colleges download their institution result sheets by EIIN, and they begin preparing their own lists of GPA-5 achievers and pass rates. Your institution may publish its own result list on its notice board or in its student groups.
Evening — Review and plan. Read your full marksheet subject by subject. Save the PDF in two places. Note any paper you want to challenge. The board challenge window opens on 1 November 2026 and runs to 7 November 2026, so you have a week to decide. Talk to your teachers the next morning about admission options and about any paper you are considering for re-scrutiny.
What to Do After Checking Your Web Result
1. Review Your Subject-Wise Results Carefully
Do not look at the GPA and stop. Open the full web marksheet and read every subject line. Identify your strongest and weakest subjects. If a subject grade is much lower than your exam performance suggested, note it down, because that is the paper to consider for a board challenge. Compare your grades with the admission requirements of the universities and colleges you want to apply to, because some programmes require a minimum grade in a specific subject, not just a minimum GPA.
2. Save a Copy for Personal Reference
Save the marksheet as a PDF on your phone and your computer, and print one copy. Keep the PDF in a folder with your SSC marksheet, your HSC admit card, and your registration card. Email a copy to yourself as a backup, so you can recover it even if your phone is lost. Do not share the PDF publicly on social media — it contains your personal information, including your roll and registration numbers.
3. University Admission — Where Your Marksheet Takes You
Your HSC result decides which admission tests you can sit, and each route has its own rules. This is the most important planning you will do after the result, so read it carefully and check each university's own circular when it is published — the circulars usually appear within weeks of the HSC result.
Dhaka University. Dhaka University runs its own admission test with separate units for science, business studies, and humanities. Each unit has a minimum GPA requirement, usually a combined SSC and HSC GPA, and some units require a minimum grade in English or in a relevant subject. Check the DU circular for your unit before you apply, and prepare for the test syllabus, because the test score matters more than the HSC GPA once you are eligible.
Jahangirnagar, Rajshahi, Chittagong, and Other Public Universities. Each public university publishes its own admission circular with its own minimum GPA and its own test pattern. Jahangirnagar University is known for its subject-wise requirements. Rajshahi University and Chittagong University have their own unit systems. Read each circular separately — do not assume that eligibility for one university means eligibility for another.
GST Cluster Admission. The General, Science and Technology (GST) cluster admission covers many universities in a single test. One application and one test give you access to a large group of universities, which makes it efficient, but the competition is intense because so many students apply. Your HSC GPA determines eligibility, and your GST test score determines which university and subject you get.
Medical College Admission. Medical admission has its own circular and its own test, and it weighs your HSC grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics heavily. The medical admission test is one of the most competitive in the country, and the merit list combines your test score with your SSC and HSC GPAs. If your Biology, Chemistry, or Physics grade is weak, be realistic about your chances, and keep a backup plan.
Engineering Admission — BUET, RUET, CUET, KUET. Engineering admission requires strong grades in Physics, Chemistry, and Higher Mathematics. BUET has the strictest requirements, and the other engineering universities have their own cut-offs. If your mathematics or physics grade is below the requirement, you cannot apply, no matter how high your overall GPA is — this is exactly why the subject-wise marksheet matters more than the single GPA number.
National University Honours Admission. National University honours admission is a separate process with its own timeline, and it is the largest admission route in the country. It does not have an admission test in the usual sense — admission is based on your SSC and HSC results. Do not ignore it while chasing public university tests, because for many students it is the most realistic route to a degree, and the application window opens soon after the HSC result.
Private Universities. Private universities have their own admission processes, their own fees, and their own deadlines. Some offer scholarships based on HSC GPA. If you are considering a private university, compare the total cost over four years, not just the admission fee, and check whether the university is recognised by the University Grants Commission.
4. Board Challenge (Re-Scrutiny) — When and How
The board challenge, officially called re-scrutiny, is the process of asking the board to re-check your answer script for a specific paper. It is not a re-examination. The board re-adds your marks and checks whether any answer was left unmarked or any mark was added wrongly. Re-scrutiny can raise your grade, and it can also leave it unchanged, but it cannot lower your grade.
For HSC Result 2026, the re-scrutiny application window is 1–7 November 2026, and the fee is ৳150 per paper. Apply only for the papers where you have a genuine reason to believe the marking was wrong — a large gap between your expected grade and your actual grade. Applying for every paper wastes money and does not improve your chances, because each paper is checked independently. The application process and the exact SMS format will be given in the official notice published with the result on 31 October 2026 — follow that notice, not last year's instructions, because the process and the SMS number may have changed along with the result SMS number. The re-scrutiny result is usually published within a few weeks, and if your grade changes, the board issues a corrected marksheet.
5. Improvement Examination
If you failed one or more subjects, or if your GPA is far below what you need, the improvement examination is your route forward. It lets you re-sit the failed or weak papers in the next examination cycle. Talk to your institution within a week of the result, because improvement registration has a deadline, and missing it costs you a full year. If you failed only the fourth subject, you do not need an improvement exam — the fourth subject cannot fail you, and your overall result is a pass.
6. Keep Your Documents Organised
Your original academic transcript and certificate will be distributed through your institution several weeks after the result. The institution will announce the distribution date. When you collect the documents, check the name spelling, the roll number, and the grades immediately, and report any error the same day. Keep the original documents in a safe folder and never hand the originals to anyone except an official office that needs to verify them — give photocopies wherever possible.
7. Discuss Your Options With Teachers or Guardians
Teachers know the admission landscape, they know which programmes fit your subject strengths, and they have guided hundreds of students through the same decisions. Guardians know your family situation and can help you weigh costs and distances. If your result was disappointing, talk to someone before making any big decision — a single conversation can prevent a rushed choice, such as abandoning a subject you are actually good at.
Fake Result Websites — How to Spot Them and Stay Safe
On every result day, fake websites appear with names that look almost identical to the official portals. They ask for your roll number, registration number, mobile number, and sometimes a payment, and they either show a fake result or steal your information. Here is how to tell a fake website from a real one.
The real portals are educationboardresults.gov.bd and eboardresults.com. Only these two. A fake website usually has a slightly different address: an extra word, a different spelling, a different domain ending, or a free subdomain. If the address is not exactly one of the two official addresses, do not enter your information there. Bookmark the official websites now, before result day, and use only the bookmarks.
The real portals never ask for your mobile number. They never ask for any payment. They never ask you to install an app, download a file, or log in with a social media account. If a website asks for money to show your result, it is fake. If a website asks you to install an app, it is fake. If a website shows your result before 11:00 AM on 31 October 2026, it is fake — the result does not exist anywhere before the official publication time.
Fake result pages also spread through social media and messaging apps. A friend shares a link saying "check your result here before everyone else", and the link goes to a fake website. Do not click result links shared in groups. Type the official address yourself, or use your bookmark. If a message promises an early result, a leaked result, or a result without a registration number, it is a lie designed to collect your information.
Finally, watch out for phone calls and messages offering to "improve" your result, sell an original certificate, or guarantee a university seat for money. All of these are scams. The board never changes a result for money, certificates come only through the institution, and university seats come only through the official admission tests. If someone asks for money for any of these, refuse, and warn other families in your area.
What If Your Web Result Shows Withheld, Absent, or Expelled?
Withheld result. A withheld result means the board has temporarily held your result while it checks something — usually a suspected malpractice report, a mismatch in your records, or an investigation into an answer script. A withheld result is not a fail. Contact your institution immediately. The institution communicates with the board on your behalf, and the board releases the result once the check is complete. Do not pay anyone who claims they can "release" a withheld result for money.
Absent. If your marksheet shows absent for a subject, the board has no answer script from you for that paper. This usually happens when a student missed the examination, or when the attendance sheet was not marked correctly. If you sat the examination but the result says absent, report it to your institution on the same day with your admit card, because the institution can ask the board to check the attendance records and the script dispatch records.
Expelled. Expelled means the invigilator reported you for malpractice during the examination. An expelled result means that paper is cancelled, and depending on the board decision, the whole examination may be cancelled for that year. If you believe the expulsion was a mistake, your institution can appeal to the board with a written statement, but appeals rarely succeed without strong evidence. Never carry anything into the examination hall that the rules do not allow, because the cost is a full year.
Result not found after several hours. If every detail is correct and the result still does not appear after several hours, while your friends' results are visible, your record may have a data problem. Contact your institution with your admit card and registration card. The institution has a direct channel to the board office and can check your record by name and roll number.
Common Mistakes Students Make on Result Day
Checking before 11:00 AM. The result is published at 11:00 AM on Saturday, 31 October 2026. Checking earlier gives an error or an old page.
Using the old SMS number 16222. The number changed to 16140. Sending your SMS to 16222 will not return your HSC Result 2026.
Using the old date 29 October. Many websites still say 29 October. The correct date is Saturday, 31 October 2026.
Typing the wrong board code. COM, CHI, JES, and BAR are the codes students get wrong most often. Check the table in this guide before sending the SMS.
Entering the roll number from memory. One wrong digit means "result not found". Copy the number from your admit card.
Forgetting the registration number. The roll number alone may show only the basic result. The registration number is needed for the full web marksheet with numbers.
Refreshing the website repeatedly. Every refresh adds server load and slows the website further. Wait, then try once.
Trusting fake result websites. Only educationboardresults.gov.bd and eboardresults.com are official. Any website asking for money or a mobile number is fake.
Sharing your marksheet publicly. Your marksheet contains your roll number, registration number, and personal details. Share it only with offices that need it.
Paying someone to "change" your result. Nobody can change a board result for money. Anyone who offers this is running a scam.
Applying for board challenge for every paper. Challenge only the papers where your grade is unexpectedly low. Each paper costs ৳150.
Frequently Asked Questions About Web Based Result With Marksheet HSC 2026
1. What is the web based result with marksheet?
The web based result is the full subject-wise marksheet you check on the official websites — educationboardresults.gov.bd and eboardresults.com. It shows every subject, every grade, every grade point, and your overall GPA. It is different from the SMS result, which shows only your GPA.
2. When will HSC Result 2026 be published?
On Saturday, 31 October 2026, at 11:00 AM. The date was confirmed by the Dhaka Education Board Chairman, Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, on 27 October 2026. Ignore websites that still say 29 October.
3. What is the SMS number for HSC Result 2026?
The new SMS number is 16140. The old number 16222 no longer works for the HSC result.
4. Which website shows the HSC marksheet with number?
Two official websites: educationboardresults.gov.bd and eboardresults.com. Both are free, and both show the same official data. eboardresults.com is more detailed, with institution, centre, and district results.
5. What is eboardresults.com?
It is the web-based result publication system run by the education boards. It offers Individual Result, Institution Result, Centre Result, and District Result, and it keeps an archive of results from 1996 to 2026.
6. Is educationboardresults.gov.bd the same as eboardresults.com?
No, they are two different official websites run by the boards, but they show the same official result data. educationboardresults.gov.bd is the central portal, and it loads faster when traffic is heavy. eboardresults.com is the web-based system with more result types.
7. How can I check my HSC result online with a marksheet?
Go to educationboardresults.gov.bd or eboardresults.com, select HSC/Alim/Equivalent, the year 2026, and your board, enter your roll number and registration number, solve the captcha, and submit. Your full marksheet appears on the screen.
8. Do I need my registration number to check the result online?
Yes, for the full marksheet with subject-wise numbers. The roll number alone may show only the basic result. Keep your registration card ready.
9. Can I check the HSC result on my mobile phone?
Yes. Both official websites work on any mobile browser, and the SMS method works on any mobile phone, including a basic phone with no internet.
10. Can I download my HSC marksheet as a PDF?
Yes. Open your result on either official website, use the browser print function, and choose "Save as PDF". On Android, use Chrome's Share and Print menu. On iPhone, use Safari's Print and pinch-to-PDF gesture. On a computer, press Ctrl+P or Command+P and select "Save as PDF".
11. What is the Institution Result, and how do I use it?
The Institution Result lets a college download the complete result sheet of all its students using only the college EIIN number. On eboardresults.com, select Institution Result, enter the six-digit EIIN, enter the security key, and click Get Result. No individual registration number is needed.
12. What is the Centre Result?
The Centre Result shows the results of all students who sat at one particular examination centre. Select Centre Result on eboardresults.com, choose the centre, and download the sheet as a PDF.
13. What is the District Result?
The District Result shows the results of all students in a district. Select District Result on eboardresults.com, choose the district, and download the sheet as a PDF.
14. Can I check old HSC results online?
Yes. The eboardresults.com archive covers results from 1996 to 2026. Select the year you need instead of 2026 and follow the same steps. The SMS method does not work for old results.
15. Why is the website slow on result day?
More than a million students and their families open the same two websites at the same time. Wait one or two minutes and try once. Do not refresh repeatedly. Use the SMS method to 16140 for a fast GPA, and check the full marksheet later.
16. Why does my result show only the GPA, without subject-wise marks?
The boards sometimes release the GPA first and the full marksheet a few hours later, to manage server load. Wait two or three hours and check again.
17. What should I do if my result shows "result not found"?
Check your roll number, registration number, board selection, and year against your admit card. If everything is correct and the message persists in the first hour, the database may still be updating — wait and try again. If it persists after several hours, contact your institution.
18. How can Alim students check their web result?
Alim students select "Madrasah" on the result websites. By SMS, they type Alim MAD <roll> 2026 and send it to 16140.
19. How can Technical Board students check their web result?
Technical Board students select "Technical" on the result websites. By SMS, they type HSC TEC <roll> 2026 and send it to 16140.
20. Is the web-based result free?
Yes. Both official websites are completely free. The only cost is your internet data. The SMS method has a charge per message. Any website that asks for payment to show your result is fake.
21. When does the board challenge application open?
The re-scrutiny window for HSC Result 2026 is 1–7 November 2026, with a fee of ৳150 per paper. Follow the official notice published with the result on 31 October 2026 for the exact application process.
22. Can I check the result before 11:00 AM on 31 October 2026?
No. The result is released at 11:00 AM. Checking earlier gives an error or an old page. Any website that claims to show the result before that time is fake.
23. What should I do after downloading my marksheet?
Read every subject line, not just the GPA. Save the PDF in two places and print one copy. Note any paper you want to challenge between 1 and 7 November 2026. Then check the admission circulars for the universities you want, and prepare for the admission tests.
Comparing the Two Official Websites in Depth
Students often ask which of the two official websites is better. The answer depends on what you need, so here is a detailed comparison based on how each website actually works on result day.
educationboardresults.gov.bd — the fast portal. This is the central result portal managed by the Ministry of Education and Teletalk Bangladesh. Its pages are light: a simple form, a mathematics captcha, and a plain result page. Because the pages are light, it loads faster than eboardresults.com when traffic is heavy, and it works better on slow mobile internet. It shows your GPA and your subject-wise grades. Its captcha is a simple addition sum, which is easier than an image captcha. Its weakness is that it offers only the individual result — no institution, centre, or district result, and no archive. Use this website first when the internet is slow or when you only need your own marksheet quickly.
eboardresults.com — the detailed system. This is the web-based result publication system run by the education boards. Its pages are heavier, and it can be slower in the first rush, but it offers far more: Individual Result, Institution Result, Centre Result, District Result, and an archive from 1996 to 2026. Its captcha is an image with distorted letters and numbers, which is harder to read than a maths sum but more secure. Its individual marksheet is the most detailed of the two portals. Use this website when you want the full marksheet, when you need an institution or centre sheet, or when you want to check an old result.
Mobile experience. Both websites work on a phone browser. educationboardresults.gov.bd is easier on a small screen because the form is short and the result page is simple. eboardresults.com has more dropdowns, so it needs more scrolling on a phone, but it still works. Neither website has an official app, and you should never install an app that claims to be the official result app — the boards do not publish one. Use your phone browser, not an app.
Which one should you bookmark? Bookmark both. On result day, open educationboardresults.gov.bd first for speed. If it does not load, switch to eboardresults.com. If neither loads, use the SMS method to 16140, and return to the websites after an hour. Having both bookmarks ready saves you from searching on result day, when fake websites are waiting for your clicks.
How the Web-Based Result System Works Behind the Scenes
Understanding what happens when you click Get Result explains why the websites behave the way they do on result day — and why patience works better than refreshing.
When you submit the form, your browser sends your examination, year, board, roll number, and registration number to the board server. The server looks up your record in the result database, which holds more than 1.27 million records for 2026 alone, plus the archive going back to 1996. It checks the captcha, then returns your marksheet as a web page. The whole process takes a few seconds when the server is quiet, and much longer when hundreds of thousands of students submit the form at the same time.
The two websites use different servers and different databases, which is why one can be slow while the other works. They are loaded with the same official data, but they handle traffic independently. That is also why switching websites is a real fix, not just a guess — you are moving to a different server with a different queue.
The result data itself is prepared weeks before publication. After the examinations, answer scripts are marked, practical marks are added, and the board compiles the marks, applies the grading scale, calculates GPAs, and checks the data several times for errors. Once the compilation is complete, the data is loaded onto the central websites and the SMS system, and the publication date is fixed with the Ministry of Education. In 2026, the date was first expected to be 29 October, but after the final verification and coordination, the Chairman announced 31 October 2026 at 11:00 AM. The date moved because the boards wanted the result to be correct, not just early.
The SMS number changed during the same process. The old number 16222 had served for many years, but the 27 October 2026 notice moved the result SMS service to 16140. This is why older guides, videos, and even some news reports still print the old number — they were written before the change. Always trust the latest official notice over an older guide, and always check the date on any guide you read.
HSC Result 2026 Statistics and What They Mean for Students
The numbers behind the result tell you how competitive this year is. A total of 12,70,583 candidates sat for the HSC and equivalent examinations in 2026 across 11 boards, 2,697 centres, and 9,439 institutions. That is one of the largest candidate pools in the history of the examination, which means competition for university seats is intense — but it also means the system is built to handle large numbers, and your result is one of more than 1.27 million records processed the same way.
For comparison, the 2025 HSC result recorded a national pass rate of 58.83 percent, with 69,097 students achieving GPA-5 across all boards. The 2025 pass rate was sharply lower than the years before it, which is why teachers, parents, and admission coaches are watching the 2026 pass rate closely. If the 2026 pass rate recovers, more students will qualify for admission tests. If it stays low, the cut-off GPAs for popular programmes may fall, because universities set their minimums based on the number of qualified applicants. Either way, your own marksheet matters more than the national average — admission depends on your grades and your admission test score, not on the national pass rate.
The Technical Board's 2025 figures show how much results vary by board. The Technical Board recorded a pass rate of 62.67 percent in 2025, above the national average, with 1,610 GPA-5 achievers. Board-level differences are normal: each board has different candidate pools, different subject mixes, and different marking patterns. Do not compare your GPA with a student from another board and conclude that one board is easier — the grading scale is the same everywhere, but the cohorts are different.
What should you take from these statistics? First, if you scored GPA-5, you are in a select group — fewer than 70,000 out of 1.27 million achieved it last year — and you should aim high in admission, but remember that GPA-5 alone does not guarantee a seat, because the admission test decides. Second, if you scored between GPA 4.00 and 4.99, you are in the large competitive middle, and your admission test preparation matters more than a small GPA difference. Third, if you scored below GPA 4.00, focus on programmes and colleges where your GPA meets the minimum, and prepare seriously for the admission test, because a strong test score can outweigh a modest HSC GPA. Fourth, if you failed, the improvement examination is a real second chance, not a dead end — many students who failed once went on to strong results the next year.
Web Result — A Guide for Guardians and Parents
Guardians check the result too, and they often have different questions from students. If you are a parent or guardian reading this guide, this section is for you.
First, check the result together with your child, not separately and not behind their back. The marksheet contains personal information, and your child has the right to see it first. Sit together at 11:00 AM, send the SMS to 16140 together, and open the marksheet on the official websites together. If the result is good, celebrate together. If it is disappointing, your first response matters more than the result itself — a calm, supportive reaction keeps the conversation open, and a harsh reaction closes it.
Second, understand what the web marksheet actually says before reacting to the GPA. A GPA of 4.50 with strong science grades is a different result from a GPA of 4.50 with weak science grades, and the right next step depends on the subjects, not the single number. Read the subject lines with your child, ask which papers felt difficult, and listen before you advise. If one paper is far below the others, ask your child whether they want a board challenge for that paper — the window is 1–7 November 2026, the fee is ৳150 per paper, and the decision should be your child's, with your support.
Third, do not compare your child's result with neighbours, relatives, or social media posts. Every year, social media fills with GPA-5 screenshots within an hour of the result, and they create a false picture — the students who scored lower do not post their marksheets. The national picture is more honest: in 2025, fewer than 70,000 out of 1.27 million candidates scored GPA-5. Most students score between GPA 3.00 and 4.99, and most of them go on to good colleges and careers. Your child's result is a starting point for the next step, not a final verdict on their ability.
Fourth, help with the practical steps. Save the marksheet PDF on your own phone as a backup. Keep a printed copy in the family file with the SSC documents. Note the admission deadlines for the universities your child wants, and help them prepare a realistic list — a mix of ambitious choices and safe choices, based on the actual grades on the marksheet. If your child failed a subject, help them contact the institution about the improvement examination within a week, because the registration deadline comes quickly, and missing it costs a full year.
Fifth, watch out for scams targeting guardians. On result day, families receive phone calls and messages from people offering to "improve" the result, sell an original certificate, or guarantee a university seat for money. All of these are scams. The board never changes a result for money, certificates come only through the institution, and university seats come only through the official admission tests. If someone asks for money for any of these, refuse, and warn other families in your area.
Web Result for Repeat, Irregular, and Improvement Candidates
Not every candidate in 2026 is a first-time regular student. Irregular candidates — students who failed in a previous year and re-sat the examination — and improvement candidates — students who passed before but sat again to improve their GPA — check their web results exactly the same way: the same websites, the same SMS format, the same board codes, and the same publication time of 11:00 AM on Saturday, 31 October 2026. There is no separate result day for irregular or improvement candidates, and there is no separate website.
One difference matters: improvement candidates should compare their new web marksheet with their previous marksheet subject by subject, because the board keeps the better result for each paper only in the way the rules specify — if you improve a paper, the new grade counts; if you score lower in a paper you sat for improvement, the board's rules decide which grade stands, and your institution can explain the exact rule for your case. Keep both marksheets — the old one and the new one — until your final transcript is issued, because the transcript is built from the official record, and having both copies lets you verify it when it arrives. The eboardresults.com archive is useful here: you can check your previous year's result on the same portal by selecting the earlier year.
24. What is the difference between the two official websites?
educationboardresults.gov.bd is the central portal — lighter, faster, and simpler, showing your GPA and subject-wise grades. eboardresults.com is the web-based result system — more detailed, with Individual, Institution, Centre, and District results, plus an archive from 1996 to 2026. Both are official and free, and both show the same data.
25. Can I check my result on a basic phone without internet?
Yes, by SMS. Type HSC, your board code, your roll number, and 2026, and send it to 16140. The reply shows your GPA. The full marksheet needs internet, so check it later on a family member's smartphone or a computer.
26. My marksheet shows a subject I did not sit. What should I do?
Do not share the page. You may have entered a wrong roll or registration number, or the system returned a cached result. Re-enter your own details carefully. If the problem continues, contact your institution with your admit card.
27. How long will the 2026 result stay available online?
The result stays available on both official websites for months, and the eboardresults.com archive keeps it for years. There is no need to rush — if the websites are slow on result day, check again the next day. Your result will still be there.
28. Can teachers check the whole college result at once?
Yes. On eboardresults.com, select Institution Result and enter the college EIIN number. The complete college sheet downloads as a PDF, with every student, every GPA, and every subject grade. No individual registration numbers are needed.
How to Use Your Web Marksheet for Scholarships and Applications
Your web marksheet is useful beyond university admission. Many scholarships, stipends, and applications ask for your HSC result, and the saved PDF from the official website is the document they accept while the original transcript is being prepared.
Government scholarships and stipends. The Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust and other government stipend programmes ask for HSC results as part of their applications. Keep your marksheet PDF ready, because the application windows often open within weeks of the result, and a missing document can delay your application. The board challenge result, if you applied for one, can change your grades, so wait for the re-scrutiny result before submitting a scholarship application if your challenged paper affects your eligibility.
University scholarship applications. Many private universities offer merit scholarships based on HSC GPA — for example, a full or partial tuition waiver for GPA-5 students, and smaller waivers for GPA 4.50 and above. The exact thresholds change every year, so check each university's own scholarship page. When you apply, attach the marksheet PDF from the official website, not a screenshot, because a PDF is cleaner and more credible.
Job applications that ask for HSC results. Some government job circulars ask for HSC results as part of the educational qualification. The online marksheet is accepted as a provisional record, and the original transcript is required later, at the verification stage. Keep both the PDF and the printed copy safe, and collect the original transcript from your institution when it is distributed.
Study abroad applications. If you are planning to study abroad, your HSC marksheet is one of the first documents an education consultancy or a foreign university will ask for. They usually want the original transcript and certificate, not the online printout, so the online marksheet is a starting point for planning, not the final document. Talk to your institution about when the original transcript will be ready, and plan your application timeline around it.
What if you missed an admission deadline? Admission circulars have strict deadlines, and missing one usually means waiting for the next cycle. If you missed a deadline because the result was delayed or because you were unwell, contact the university admission office directly — some universities allow late applications with a fine, and some do not. Do not pay any agent who promises to get you in after the deadline; only the university itself can allow a late application, and it does so through its own official process. If the deadline has truly passed, focus on the next option on your list — National University honours admission, another public university, or a private university — rather than losing a year waiting for one missed window.
The Day After the Result — Your First Week Plan
Result day is emotional, and the first week after it sets the direction for the next year. Here is a simple plan for the seven days after 31 October 2026.
Day 1 (31 October, evening): Save the marksheet PDF in two places, print one copy, and read every subject line. Note any paper you want to challenge. Rest — you have earned it.
Day 2 (1 November): The board challenge window opens. If you have a paper to challenge, discuss it with a teacher first, then apply. Start listing the universities and programmes you want, and check their minimum GPA requirements against your marksheet.
Day 3 (2 November): Visit your institution or contact your teachers about admission guidance. Many colleges hold result-day counselling sessions in the first week. Attend one if your college offers it.
Day 4 (3 November): Start preparing for the admission test of your first-choice university. Buy or borrow the admission guide, and make a study plan for the weeks until the test. The test syllabus is different from the HSC syllabus, so do not assume your HSC preparation is enough.
Day 5 (4 November): Check the admission circulars published so far. Note the application deadlines, the application fees, and the documents each university needs. Prepare the documents in one folder.
Day 6 (5 November): Apply for the first admission test on your list, if the circular is open. Do not wait until the last day — the application websites also slow down near the deadline.
Day 7 (6 November): Review your week. Your board challenge application, if any, is submitted. Your first admission application is in. Your study plan is running. The result is no longer a surprise — it is a plan. That is the best possible outcome of result week, whatever your GPA is.
